Wow Class Halls: Guesses & Desires – Part 3

Meznir here – Telwyn’s hubby. I’m hijacking his blog again for some World of Warcraft speculation.

In Part 1 and Part 2 I suggested iconic locations where the class halls for eight of the twelve WoW classes could be (or could have been, for those that have already been announced). Today I’ll propose some guesses / desires for the final four: Warlocks, Warriors, Hunters and Demon Hunters.

Warlocks

WoWScrnShot_090615_222904At Gamescon it was said that the Warlocks’ class hall would be in a “Legion Portal”. That’s actually pretty vague and could be a couple of different places: Xoroth, Xandros, Xerrath (Warlocks obviously like X’s) or somewhere completely new. Of those, Xoroth is the most well known, so possibly the more likely – but we’ll have to wait and see.

WoWScrnShot_011508_135408When I was levelling my first character in WoW (back in 2007) I was always intrigued by the Altar of Storms in Burning Steppes, that the Stormwind to Ironforge flight points would take you over. It used to be one of the places that the old Warlock quest chain for the Dreadsteed used to go to and is now a quest area since Cata. It’s probably a little small for the class hall, but could easily be expanded. BTW, there’s also a second Altar of Storms in Blasted Lands.

WoWScrnShot_090815_161509The centre of the Green Fire quest chain, The Black Temple is already incorporated into Warlock lore. Could they have moved in and set up their hall there?

WoWScrnShot_082715_154905Scholomance was a school for Necromancy – whether that makes it a Warlock or Mage school is debatable, but the layout of the school would have been perfect for a class hall.

WoWScrnShot_090815_133823I think any class halls being on alternate universe Draenor is extremely unlikely, but we have to throw in super warlock Gul’dan’s pad just for fun. Though by the time Legion comes out, I think we’ll all be sick to death of Hellfire Citadel!

Warriors

WoWScrnShot_090815_163243 WoWScrnShot_090815_163756

One place that immediately springs to mind for Warriors, is the Brawlers Guild. The current locations are faction specific, but a new location based upon the theme of the Fight Club would be perfect.

WoWScrnShot_090815_165005The Stormstout Brewery doesn’t really have the feel of a Warrior hall, but I’m using it to illustrate an idea – some sort of large Inn / Pub. If there’s one thing Warriors may love more than fighting – it would be drinking 🙂

WoWScrnShot_042915_123813How about Blackrock Foundry as a location? This place oozes the feeling of brawn and sharp spiky things. I think Warriors might feel at home here.

WoWScrnShot_041215_214134To go off stereotype for a moment (and not because I’m trying to get at least one class hall in Gilneas!) how about we go a bit classy and move the Warrior class hall into Greymane Manor? Genn has got to be one of the class leaders of the Warrior hall, so I’m sure he wouldn’t mind us moving in. We can promise not to smash anything! (This may be a lie…) It also has a nice Inn-like feel to it, which I already mentioned above as suitable.

Hunters

WoW_7.0Zones_Highmountain_EM_013It was mentioned in an interview that Hunters will be residing in a Hunting Lodge in the peaks of the new zone Highmountain. Someone proposed it might be the structure shown in the top left of the image above – though I would guess that that’s just a Highmountain Tauren village. A hunting lodge sounds absolutely perfect though and the zone seems very appropriate with all its wild beasts.

WoWScrnShot_050215_184013If it wasn’t to be in Highmountain, then I would have voted for Outlands Nagrand, maybe on top of one of the floating rocks. This area feels so Huntery after spending so long doing Hemet Nesingwary’s quests here. Similarly, Stranglethorn Vale would also have been a great location or Grizzly Hills.

WoWScrnShot_040310_175255Partially an excuse to not miss out on using a beautiful building somewhere – Gundrak is currently gathering snow out in Zul’drak. With its animal themes throughout in both architecture and denizens, a troll hunter would feel especially at home here.

Demon Hunters

Vault-of-the-Wardens-Header-2Although we don’t know yet where the Demon Hunter class hall will be, one obvious location is the Vault of Wardens – where the DH starting experience will be. As the other Hero Class, Death Knights’ halls will likely be in the location where they had their starting experience, this seems highly likely. That said though, as this place will also be used as a dungeon in Legion, maybe that rules it out as the class hall?

MaardunIn a similar vein, another part of the DH starting zones will be Maardun. Blizzardwatch describes this as:

“Shattered, demonic prison world” in which part of the Demon Hunter starting experience takes place. This is where Sargeras imprisoned demons when he was a good Titan. When he went corrupt, he shattered this world and set the demons free, leading to the formation of the Legion.

It looks amazing – it would be a waste not to go back, right? And the building above looks suspicious to me. I guess there’s a chance though that this building may actually BE the Vault of the Wardens.

WoWScrnShot_090815_161444I know I’ve already mentioned it, but seeing as The Black Temple is also synonymous with Demon Hunters and is crawling with them as well as Illidian, this has to be on their list of possible locations too.

So that’s it. All twelve wow class halls speculated on. What do you think? Where would you like them to be? I’ll leave you with one final gorgeous location that I didn’t manage to shoehorn into a hall – Heart of Fear. Boy that place looked amazing.

I think warlocks should meet in a cellar somewhere, like they used to with their class trainers. I liked it when the class had something shady about it instead of being about showy displays of power like it seems to be these days.

Warriors should meet on that island off the Barrens where they used to have to go for their class quest to get the whirlwind axe. Thinking about it though, the Cataclysm might have destroyed that; I’m not sure.

There’s a hunting lodge in Loch Modan, but that’s too Alliance-focused. There’s also one in the Hinterlands where I could see hunters of both factions meet up, though it was infested by mobs last I checked.

An underground den for Warlocks would be great. I always liked the one under Stormwind. Those other two ideas sound good too 🙂
