Learn from other game developers mistakes!

There’s a bit of an issue with the latest Sim City game, people can’t play it due to server login problems (Tobold and Tipa have more on this).

I haven’t played Sim City in a very, very long time so I’m not interested in playing it. But this reminds me of the Diablo 3 connection fiasco. Why do games developers not keep an occasional eye on what their competitors are doing *wrong*. It shouldn’t just be about ‘adapting’ features from competing games. They could also keep track of failed launches, security problems, game design issues and try not to repeat them!

Sure they’re super busy and all, but making a single player game that you can only play with the server’s permission is just repeating others’ mistakes…
