Trion has continued to add content in the time I was unsubbed from Rift. I barely got started on the fishing and cooking (survival) professions, I am a bit of an addict to cooking in MMOs so this could become a new obsession though I’m torn as to which character should take this on.
On my main character I’ve been charging through the autumn festival dailies to get a ghostly namjok mount. Also the guild weekly quest is to gather 75 collectibles. This ties in nicely with another feature of the festival, where drinking a quest reward potion gives me special sight for a few seconds – revealing a random selection of collectibles within the special festival zone.
I’m leveling my ‘zombie guild‘ – the old guild I created with some friends when we were all playing together at launch. If I continue to play long term I will have to consider joining a proper guild if I want to do instances but this shell of a guild does offer some useful services even for playing solo and with all my crafting I could do with the vault space.
My next high priority goal after the festival mount is to start earning the necessary crafting tokens to buy some high end armoursmith recipes. I finally got Cerian’s armoursmithing to 300 a few days ago so now I could make very good upgrades with enough of these tokens to buy the recipes. It’s time for me to start investigating crafting rifts as well as a new source of ingredients. I do like the idea of content catered specifically to crafters like this. EQ2 wins all the prizes in that regard with the separate classes, leveling and quest chains for crafting, but it’s nice to see Rift supporting non-combat activities more.
