I remember reading advice around the time of Diablo 3 of the importance of stacking +health gear. A large health pool was basically very important to survival. I do wonder whether the same applies to GW2. I have happened to trait into a line on my mesmer that gives vitality, so his health pool is almost twice that of the elementalist character he plays alongside. I am defeated a lot less in general events and hearts, I don’t of course have any real evidence whether this is down to health pools, skillset choice (mesmers have a ton of CC and distraction options) or playstyles.
Comparing this to my earth elementalist who is stacking toughness (+defence) and he feels like a glass cannon in comparison…
One conclusion is that I need to spend more time learning the stat system and experimenting with builds. That’s ok though as I’m loving doing just that.
I do wonder whether all characters should have some +health gear though?
As healing is not proportional to your health, you are probably better off if you find a balance between vit and +healing items. Otherwise, this is a sound strategy. Also, get some runes of life from a tailor..
